But places like this don’t protect themselves.
As Rivington enters its next chapter, we’re looking for new Trustees to help secure its future – keeping it open, accessible and cared for, for generations to come.
We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who can bring professional expertise, strategic insight, and experience operating at a senior or board level.

- overseeing finances and resources

- championing the Gardens and their value
- contributing confidently to board-level discussion, decision-making and constructive challenge

Who we’re looking for
We welcome people from all backgrounds.
While previous trustee experience is not essential, we are particularly interested in individuals who bring relevant professional experience and are comfortable contributing in a formal board or governance setting.
We’re especially keen to hear from:
- local residents or regular visitors
- people with lived or professional experience in relevant areas
- those currently underrepresented in heritage leadership
- individuals with experience in senior roles across sectors such as business, finance, governance, operations, or organisational leadership
The commitment
- Voluntary (reasonable out of pocket expenses reimbursed)
- Around 1–2 days per month
- 8 meetings per year + occasional visits
- 3-year term (with opportunity of re-appointment, up to 3 terms)
