PLEASE NOTE – The QR code email you received when you purchased via our webpage acts as your ticket for the event. We do not send out physical tickets.
Event Location
Rivington Terraced Gardens is located on the side of a steep hill. The pathways leading to the Gardens are, in many places, steep and can be rough underfoot. Therefore, we strongly advise that all people attending the event wear appropriate footwear.
Please also bring waterproof clothing and layers. The event will take place around the Japanese Lake & Kitchen Gardens. The footpaths of the event area are set on multiple levels, interconnected by slopes and a couple short sets of steps. Some seating will be provided however, this will be very limited so you are welcome to bring camping chairs.
Admission will be at the ‘Arched entrance’ of the Japanese Lake – what3words: folks.fame.stockpile.
The event is timed to conclude at 21:30 and all visitors will need to walk back down from site at the close of the evening. Low-level lighting will be provided to ensure the safety of visitors exiting. However, it is advised that you bring torches to ensure a means of personal lighting is available. Toilets, including accessible toilets, are provided.
Parking
Although car parking will open from 16:30 and will be free of charge for all attendees, we ask that you endeavour to arrive on foot or car share wherever possible. Congestion is expected due to the nature of the locality.
We advise attendees to approach Rivington via Rivington Lane from Horwich, as you pass the Great House Barn Coffee shop & Go Ape you should turn an immediate right, on to the approach to Rivington Hall Barn. Signage & staff in hi-vis jackets will be on hand to indicate spaces and manage traffic flow – what3words: campers.desktops.waffle.
PLEASE NOTE: For those attending on the Friday & Saturday evenings we ask that you do not, under any circumstances, attempt to park by Rivington Hall (‘Top’) Barn itself; evening parking is reserved for their guests only.
Staff in hi-vis jackets will give directions to parking areas. Please follow all instructions provided – they are for your own and others safety. Please also park considerately and as closely as is possible to the vehicle next to you. On leaving your vehicle, please use the footpaths at the side of the road to make your way towards the entry point for the event.
Volunteers in hi-vis will then be on hand to help guide you to the Festival. Please follow all their directions and the signage. All cars are parked and left at the owner’s risk. We cannot be held accountable for any loss or damage incurred to vehicles.
Arrival
The walk up from the car parking will take at least 20 minutes and is steep in many places. Pease ensure you give yourself sufficient time to make the trek up. When parked, please follow the well signposted route and marshals.
We will have a range of food & drinks vendors at the event and only goods purchased on site can be consumed in the event area. Alcoholic beverages must also be consumed in the TENS (bar) area only.
Phone signal in the Gardens can be patchy. While some vendors do have the ability to take contactless payment, we cannot guarantee this. Therefore, please ensure that you bring sufficient cash with you. The nearest cash point is in Horwich town centre, 3 miles away…
Accessible Car Parking
This facility is very limited and available to those who feel they won’t reach the event space without it. Lifts to / from the event space will be made available from a designated car park for people who may require them. However, all this must be booked in advance via the contact details below.
Please note: Transport consists of 4 x 4 vehicles; therefore, there will be a requirement for anyone requesting this facility to be able to get in and out of these vehicles with minimal assistance. They can transfer lighter mobility aids such as Rollators, folding wheelchairs & ‘boot scooter’ type mobility scooters. They cannot transfer heavier mobility aids (such as powered wheelchairs).

Taxis
Local firms should drop off and pick up passengers from lower Rivington, in front of the Great House Barn Visitor Centre area. Please do not book taxis from Rivington Hall Barn and be aware we cannot ring taxis for visitors to the event. Numbers of local firms are;

Miscellaneous
- DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED in this event (with the exception of pre-booked Assistance Dogs).
- You will not receive physical tickets to the event. Instead, volunteers will tick your name off a list using your QR code at the entry point on arrival.
- A designated smoking area will be created for smoking during the event.
- Bolton Mountain Rescue Team are kindly providing First Aid cover. Their First Aid point will be clearly set up and signposted.
- If an emergency situation occurs, instructions will be given over the Public Address system and staff will be on hand to escort visitors to a safe location.
- Safety Stewards and Volunteer Marshals will be on hand throughout the event wearing hi-vis jackets to provide information and support. If any visitors have any questions, please do ask one of them.
- Lost (or found) children and property will be retained at the First Aid tent.
