Out of stock
Join us for a fascinating guided Mushroom forage around Rivington Terraced Gardens.
The Forage will be led by local Mushroom Enthusiast Colin Unsworth who will share his passion for and wonderful knowledge of all things Fungi. This is a highlight of our annual event calendar and not to be missed.
We will identify some of the many species which make the Gardens their home and collect a sample of them for further study. We will also cook up some of the edibles at the end of the walk at the Tennis Lawn Summerhouse for you each to try.
For those so inclined you’ll also have the opportunity to sample some of Colin’s homemade Gin.
The Gardens sit at an elevation of around 900ft and the tracks up are steep in places.
You will need to be able to walk up to the gardens, and then walk around the gardens at a steady, but fairly gentle, pace. Please wear sturdy footwear and bring water/a drink with you.
Meeting point: Lower House Car Park at 9:30 (Find us on Google maps by searching for “Pigeon Tower Car Park”)
The Walk will take around 3-4 hours so please plan your time accordingly.
You will not receive a physical ticket, instead we will check your name against the list of booked places when you arrive. Your booking confirmation email is sufficient.
While Covid restrictions have now eased we will still be asking people to self-distance and every effort will be made to keep you safe.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are okay around other people and are kept on a lead at all times.
